Day & Night Projects is proud to announce the gallery’s third consecutive participation in the 2027 Atlanta Art Fair, October 1–4 at Pullman Yards. Our featured artist Michael Reese is an Atlanta-based, multi-disciplinary artist and art teacher whose cartographic abstractions bring big cosmic energy.
The artist’s cyanotypes hold the deep blue of outer space while ghostly spirographic lines plot the rotation of brightly-painted celestial spheres. Reese’s concept of cosmocentrism posits humanity as part of a vast, interconnected universe—a sense one might develop while painting with the light of the sun as we rotate with the earth into the darkness.The resulting artworks on canvas and papered panels are a retro-afrofuturism, full of movement and light, our eyes to the stars.
Reese's artworks at Day & Night Projects (booth #D17) will cover a range of sizes and prices, including a flat file of works on paper by Reese and D&N Co-Directors William Downs, Steven L. ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Michael Reese
Michael Reese is an artist and educator, he earned his BFA from The Savannah College of Arts and Design. Driven by a fascination in cosmology and celestial science, he creates conceptual bridges between astronomy and the African American Diasporic experience. Reese shows regularly in both traditional galleries and public art venues. Reese’s work is also featured in select private and public collections, including The High Museum, Coca-Cola, Georgia Power Company, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, The Atlanta Hawks Foundation, Delta Airlines and Invesco.
